What Next? Programme Independent Living Experience

In partnership with Big Lottery Fund's 'Empowering Young People', Autonomie offered young people aged between 16 and 25 living with additional needs a chance to try independent living at our centre Lilac House (Linked Independent Living and Advice Centre). The programme ended in April 2021.

Take a look at what the programme achieved

In June 2018 Autonomie facilitated the first ever Boys sleepover and the first ever Girls sleepover at the premises with support from our specialised facilitators, we have facilitated many sleepovers at the centre within those 3 years.

First Ever Girls Sleepover

On Friday 30 June 2018, we facilitated the first ever Girls sleepover at Lilac House (Linked Independent Living and Advice Centre) - with Stephanie & Megan being the first girls to stay at the centre which has recently undergone a transformation.

The girls enjoyed ten pin bowling, tea at Pizza Hut, followed by shopping for breakfast supplies and snacks. Then it was back to Lilac House to make summer Mocktails and enjoy a relaxing evening with popcorn!

Tessie & Emma who provided the support had a great time too and felt that the young people truly had the ‘Freedom2Choose’ their fun sleepover.

First Ever Boys Sleepover

On Friday 15 June 2018, Malcolm and Gary were the first boys to sleepover at Lilac House. They boys enjoyed an evening out with food and entertainment at the Odyssey Complex, Belfast.
