Role description

'What Next?' is a National Lottery Community Funded 3-year project that offers practical support for young people with additional needs who face challenges in making their transition into adult life.

This vital and unique project offers training programmes with an educational focus in addition to programmes aimed at developing social and communication skills, confidence and self-esteem and prevent poor mental health.

The ‘What Next?’ Youth Project Officer will play a key role in the development, management, roll-out, and evaluation of the programme and the dissemination of evidence of project impact and outcomes.

The post holder will work directly with young people with additional needs as part of a team that deliver the ‘What Next?’ Project which is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund - ‘Empowering Young People’ programme.

The post holder will promote and recruit young people for participation in the programme and assist the Services Manager in the development and implementation of the project, its goals and outcomes to ensure its success in line with funding.

They will manage, support and supervise all staff, volunteers within ‘What Next?’ programme

Undertaking duties under the direction of the Services Manager, the post holder will ensure the planning, delivery, implementation and evaluation of the project.

The post holder will maintain excellent working relationships with young people, families, staff and volunteer teams.
