At Autonomie, young people are at the heart of everything we do. Hands-on and giving young people a voice the ‘Young Person’s Voice’ Youth Forum offers members a chance to express their views, share their insights and be key decision makers in the planning and delivery of activities programmes.

It’s widely understood that Yoga can offer a wide range of benefits, from relaxation to even reducing stress and anxiety in regular users.

On Thursday 8 November as part of our What Next? programme and to mark Self-care Week 2018 participants got a chance to take part in the first of two yoga sessions at  Lilac House.

On Friday 12 October What Next programme participants cooked up a storm at the Lilac House kitchen!

Participants got to build on their existing cookery skills and those who needed were able to avail of our independent living equipment to prepare their lunch!

Everyone got a chance to make a lunch of beans and scrambled eggs on toast!

Attending Disability Exhibition 2018?

'Autonomie Musical Extravaganza' dance moves, props and pizza making session

On Saturday 17 February, young people continued with their preparation for the 'Autonomie Musical Extravaganza' with dance moves, making ‘under the sea' props, and choosing their own pizza toppings before tucking in. Well done to everyone and especially Aisling who came up with the pizza idea.

On Saturday 3 February creativity was the theme for the afternoon as young people got to practice for the 'Autonomie Musical Extravaganza' and worked as a team making scenery for the show.

Thanks to our staff, volunteers, partners and the young people for making the session a huge success.
