Autonomie to offer young people and families CPCAB Counselling Course Qualification

Exciting opportunity for all the family!

We are delighted to offer young people with additional needs, carers, parents and siblings the chance to gain a CPCAB Introduction to Counselling Skills (Level 2) qualification.

The course is planning to start in Autumn 2019 and likely to run on Saturdays 10.00 am - 12.00 for 15 weeks.

Accredited by CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Awarding Body), the course will develop your listening skills and improve your communication.

The classes will be very practical and hopefully fun!

Boys Sleepover at Lilac House 'Best boys night ever'

Access to short-term Independent Living at Lilac House is a key focus of our What Next? programme supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The programme gives young people with additional needs aged 19 - 25 who feel ready a chance to develop and learn new independent living skills, skills such as convenient cookery including preparing breakfast, using the dishwasher, microwave and using adapted utensils if required.

At Autonomie, we actively encourage young people who take part in our programmes to become volunteers.

We offer structured opportunities for young people to volunteer and mentor their peers, volunteer on our Youth Forum, as well as opportunities to help lead activities programmes planning and delivery.

What Next? members got a chance to take part in a variety of practical and fun activities to further develop and build on a range of independent living skills first week of June 2019.

There was time too for social activities and recreation.

What Next? programme young people enjoyed their walk to Belfast Botanic Gardens on Thursday 7 March.

During the visit the young people got a chance to explore to the wonderfully restored Tropical Ravine which was a big hit with everyone.

At Autonomie, we take internet safety very seriously. We are proud to deliver training and workshops to help equip young people with additional needs with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions online.

Today is Safer Internet Day and it offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community.
