Choice, Connection & Community for Adults
Living Life MY Way supports adults aged 25+ with disabilities who often find themselves increasingly isolated as youth services fall away. This programme provides safe, supported, mainstream social experiences that reflect the lives of non-disabled peers.
Learn More About Living Life MY WayFamilies frequently describe this stage of life as having "a forever teenager" - an adult child with limited social opportunities, few peers, and declining mental and physical wellbeing.
As youth services fall away, adults with disabilities face growing isolation. Living Life MY Way was created to change that - offering real social experiences, genuine choice, and a sense of belonging.

Participants are supported to make their own choices - where to go, what to eat, what to try - while building real confidence through lived experience
Supported social evenings that mirror the experiences of non-disabled peers - meals, entertainment and community life.
Original productions written and led by participants, performed at venues including the Lyric Theatre, tackling themes of identity and confidence.
Regular group sessions that foster friendships, peer connection and a strong sense of community belonging.
Hands-on cooking sessions that build practical skills, independence and shared enjoyment around food.
Outings to local attractions and new places, giving participants the chance to explore and experience their wider community.
Mainstream activities that promote inclusion, participation and a life that reflects the choices available to everyone.

Following consultation with families and participants, delivery was adapted from multiple short evenings to one longer, structured weekly evening session alongside daytime activities.
This change has resulted in deeper engagement, stronger outcomes and more meaningful respite for families.
Our programme evolves based on the voices of participants and their families - ensuring it always meets real needs.
Drama has been a powerful cornerstone of the programme. Participants have performed at the Lyric Theatre, including original productions written and led by the young people themselves.
These productions tackle themes such as identity, confidence and mental health - giving participants a platform to express themselves and be heard.
